Bounty

Sunk off the shores of North Carolina amidst hurricane “Sandy,” the Bounty will be dearly missed. A beautiful example of craftsmanship has been lost. Before the hurricane hit our coast, I started working on a painting series that included the Bounty. Here are a couple of shots Rob Dmitrieff took when she was hauled out in Boothbay Harbor in Maine just before her last voyage. It is with great sadness that I report that  one crew member has died & the captain is still missing – it could have been any one of us who spend our lives in part on the sea. Stay posted for the paintings that will be inspired by this wonderful ship…
